LG Wireless Phone

Should I dump my landline (home phone)?

I have Verizon Wireless (personal), Page Plus Cellular Unlimited Talk n Text (work), and Skype (VoIP). My 77 yr old father has Verizon Wireless. My brother has Nextel National Free Incoming 300 Plan, but going to switch to Page Plus Cellular Unlimited Talk n Text, They both use Yahoo! Voice, Google Voice, and Skype for international calling. So, what is your opinion: should we disconnect the landline we had for 13 years? If possible, please explain your opinion. You can also add any suggestions, if you wish, Thank you in advance. :-)

  1. My 77 year old step-father can't grasp the concept of cell technolgy, but he has a hearing problem :-) We ported our residential line to the cable company a couple of years ago. Tradition keeps me hanging onto our business landline with the telco, but I think my project for next month's new year is to find a solution I can live with for it. Right now the cable co's $100 a month for 2 naked lines, even though our residential "everything" package is adequate for voice, data, and video, is a bit pricey when $28 gets me 2 incoming lines ported from someone else...1/3 the price of the phone company for one line (special arrangements). If you're fond of the number, look to someone who will port it. Vitelity or Phone Power come to mind. Now you have the line and inward service via VoIP for $15 a month or less, or take a chance and get basic Ooma service for "life". Carl
