How can I fix my keyboard on my LG rumor cell phone?

I have an LG Sprint Rumor for my cell phone, but recently, the keyboard that pops out when you slide it, has stopped working. When I type, nothing appears on the screen, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Any suggestions or does anyone know how to get it to work again? I have already tried taking the battery out and then turning it back on. Help please! I miss typing on my keyboard!

1. have you had the phone for less than a year? well, then find your receipt and contact sprint, your phone might be defective and explain to them how the keyboard stopped working and they will send you a new one for free. however, if your phone has water damage, you cannot use your warantee to replace it.
