why wont my lg vx9900 (env) verizon cell phone close with a rubber silicone case on it?

i just bought a silicone (rubber) case for my lg vx9900 (env) verizon cell phone and it will not close all the way can someone tell me why not? alot of my friends have the same case on other flip phones and it closes just fine.

1. It sounds like the rubber maybe thicker and getting in the way.
2. well the rubber case makes it a little bulkier and it cant close completly, or you dont have it on there the correct way. good luck
3. Its too bulky and getting in the way of it closing
4. I've had my LG VX9900 for 2 months and it keeps shutting off.
