LG Wireless Phone

Can you use your Verizon Blackberry phone as a modem for your laptop?

I have to be away this week and will be working at a location where there is no wifi, so I was wondering if there is anyway I can use my phone? I would by a modem, I am only going to need it this week so then I would be adding it to my plan and have it for no reason. Please help, Thanks

  1. yes you can, but you have to add it to your plan
  2. You can but as the first response said, you have to add it to you plan. An alternative to that is getting a pre-paid wireless card. Depending on where you live. Go to any Pilot truck stop and you can buy one. They are $159 dollars and have limited data usage. You can recharge it for about $50 as needed.
  3. yes. that is a feature called tethering. tethering allows you to receive 3g signals and allows you to let you use the 3g signal on the blackberry on the laptop. to activate tethering on your plan, contact ATT and tell them to change your plan. then, go onto blackberry options and allow tethering. then connect the blackberry to the laptop and select the wireless signal for the blackberry on the laptop.
