if you don't want to pay for a cell plan that includes internet, can your phone hook up to wifi?
I want a new phone from verizon. more specifically, the samsung rogue. I don't want to pay for a plan that includes internet, and I have wifi at my house, so I would like to know if it could still hook up to that. thanx!

- You would have to see if your phone is Wi-Fi compatible. The BlackBerry Storm2 is compatible with Wifi and it's with Verizon Wireless.
- I thought that too. BIG MISTAKE! If you log online without paying for it in your contract... they will send you a ridiculous bill. Even though the plans with internet seem expensive. They are a hell of a lot cheaper than if you were to log on without a contract a few times. I've accidentally pushed the wrong button on my phone and gotten a bill. I have verizon as well. There may be a way, but I havent figured it out. The best thing to do is, dont try it until you are 100% sure, or dont mind potentially paying the extra cash. I dont know if that phone uses wifi. But I'm not an expert on the subject. Try calling verizon. Ask them, if they instantly try to get you to buy, hang up and call another location.
- Only phones with a built-in wifi connection can do that. If you have a connection, you can connect to any unlocked wifi connection. You can also connect to any 'locked' wifi network provided you have the authorisation password.
- The Rogue is not wifi enabled. If you want to access the internet, you will have to use Verizon's network.
