No RGB input signal when I install a network card?
Hil all, I am trying to install dad's BT Home Hub 2.0 and thereby replacing his old BT voyager 210 ADSL router on his XP desktop system. His base unit did not have an ethernet port so installed a Belkin 10/100 PC1 Desktop Network card for wired ethernet connection. The hub works work, the wifi is fine as I can pick up the signal on my phone, but the monitor now fails to work. It says RGB no input signal. The AMW monitor is connected as before via the VGA plug. The variable now is the insertion of the network card. Will I now need to connect via a V1 plug? Looking at other posts ... There does not appear to be a manual overide for VGA OR dv1 inputs. Anyone have any ideas?

- Installing a network card should have no effect on the video output. A PC will not even boot if there is no video output, so something else happened. Make sure the video card is sited properly. If video comes back when you remove the lan card, then the lan card causes a short.
- More than likely you have disturbed the graphics card during the network card install. You may have also damaged it fitting the network card either through mechanical damage or static discharge. Did you ensure you had been properly 'earthed' to remove any static build up on your self? Power down the pc and UNPLUG it (you can leave it plugged in and the power supply switched off at the rear, if it has a switch, the unit is then 'earthed' reducing the danger of damage through static!) The best way to be certain is to remove, then reinstall your graphics card, seating it properly. Checking the VGA plug and cable as you go. Check with another monitor or pc just to ensure the monitor is not faulty. Been caught out there before :-) And remember, coincidences do happen, that's why the word exists!
