How can i put my G1 Phone on att prepaid plan and will it work the same??!!!?

My Mom Just gave me an G1 HTC Phone and i would like to know if its possible to put it on a at&t prepaid plan if its possible how can i do it and i want to know if there's going to be a big difference and if it is what's going to be?

1. if you unlock it you could and no it won't work the same. the phone was not designed for at&t..it should work pretty good but just remember att is not on top of the android game as much as tmobile and verizon
