How can I get pictures off my cell phone (LG Chocolate VX8550) and on to my computer?

My computer does not have bluetooth. I have a USB cable for the phone but it's for uploading music using Verizon's music software. I tried using the cable to download the pictures using bitpim, but the program could not see my data. I'm tying to avoid buying another USB cable because of the price. Any suggestions?

1. you could email the pictures to yourself? if you have unlimtied texting this is free. just add you email into your contacts and send it as a picture message
2. I have the chocolate 3 and I use the cord that came with it. You can also use you SD card if you have a reader
