LG Wireless Phone

Verizon Wireless Phone Upgrade?

I got an LG Voyager probably over 2 years ago now and it was crap after 2 years. The touch screen was so annoying, it'd piss me off every time I would try to click something; it'd just click WAY off. Eventually both screens went black and I was not able to see a thing so I asked my dad for a replacement and got one shipped through the mail(we had to pay $50). This new Voyager's touchscreen is just as annoying. I didn't want to complain about it to my dad because it was hard enough trying to convince him to replace the first one, I didn't want to ask for another. Then they came out with another version of the Voyager about 2 weeks later. I was wondering if it was possible for me to get rid of this one I got shipped and upgrade for the new version of the Voyager? My dad said when I got my new one shipped to me, the contract restarted and I have to wait 2 years again. So does that mean I'm stuck with this crapy touchscreen and unable to upgrade? Or am I able to? If so, then do I just call the verizon company and just ask for an upgrade?

  1. Usually you have to wait a few months before upgrading again, which can be expensive if you want to upgrade early. Usually you have to wait a year or 20 months. You can cancel, but that will also be expensive. Your best bet is to call Verizon or go to a store and have them tell you exactly what your options are and go from there.
  2. If you got a new one shipped to you, you didnt renew your plan. For that youd have to get a completely new phone at the store and then you renew it. you cant restart your contract if its not over yet.
  3. I used to work for Verizon Wireless and if you got the same exact phone it sounds like your dad went through insurance to get it. If that is the case then you ARE eligible for an upgrade if you have the phone for at least 22 months. However, if the account is in your dads name, he is the one that will have to go down to the Verizon store to upgrade the phone.
