Can I use an unlocked samsung propel on the Verizon network?
There is a phone being sold on ebay that says it is unlocked to be able to used the following carriers: Amp'd Mobile, Cellular South, Helio, Metro PCS, Boost Mobile, nTelos, Cellular One, Disney, SunCom, Qwest, Net10, Bell Mobility, Fido, Rogers Wireless, Cricket, U.S. Cellular, Telus, Alltel, AT&T, Cingular, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, TracFone, Verizon, Virgin Mobile. is that possible? or is the ebay seller wrong? I heard that you can use and at&t phone with Verizon and just not use a sim card...but not the other way around because you need a sim card for Verizon...is that true? and does the samsung propel require a data plan?

- Seller is either a foreigner who doesn't know US networks and the technology they use or just doesn't knwo what they are talking about. The Propel is a Gsm phone. It can be used only with other gsm sim networks. In the US, the two major ones are Att and Tmobile. This list of carriers is old and includes Canadian carriers Fido, Rogers and Bell. Disney and Ampd are out of business. Helio was absorbed by Virgin Mobile which itself was absorbed by Sprint/Nextel. Just stick with Tmobile and Att. Those are the only two worth worrying about. The Propel will work on those if unlocked. Cannot be used on Verizon, ever. Verizon does not use sim cards at all. The only phone I know of that can be used on both Att and Verizon is the Blackberry Storm, which is a Verizon phone with a sim card slot which has to be unlocked. It can use Tmobile and Att. Other then that, nothing else.
