- No. You not be charged for using wifi. But even if you had dial up then it would still not charge the bill to your phone
- If you are in a store that sells bottled watter but you ask for a glass of watter from the tap, will you have to pay for it? Unlike the data plan you sign with a clear service provider, your network operator, the WiFi status is more complicated. WiFi is an open standard and anybody can open a network hotspot and make it available for use. Is that free? Could be, but not all the time. Here are a few examples: a) open networks - you find them, try to use them and it works - free. Also rather unsecure, but that's another issue. b) fake-open networks - you find them, try to use them but they will redirect you to a page where you must purchase the service or type in a valid password - not free. Usualy found on hotels or other public spaces. c) private networks - networks which you cannot access unless you are part of the group that has the right to access the given network, For commercial networks (like those operated by telcos) you can join the network after paying a monthly fee. d) community networks - kind of like c) but you can usualy join the community by simply installing your own router and letting the other members of the community to use your network for free. In exchange you get access in their networks if one is available. See http://www.fon.com as an example e) home network - it is done by installing your own wireless router and configure a network so that your phone can connect to the internet whenever you are at home. Is this free? Well, you still have to pay for your internet connection to your home, but nothing extra. ;)
- dude no i wifi is not connected to GPRS the charges of the wifi is depends upon its plan..
- If u have a wireless internet router at home and have a broadband internet plan that you pay for monthly, then u can use the wifi on ur phone for free...or connect to someone else wireless internet! :P The thing that sais'Vodafone Live!' or WAP Services uses the GPRS/EDGE feature. If you connect through this, im not sure how it charges you if u have contract,(cos im on pay as u go and it takes the money stright off)....but it will ...somehow ....it might appear as an extra on ur contract
