guestion about pay as you go att cell phone?

A friend has a pay as you go phone,hes ran out minutes,can I buy a minute card with his cell phone number and apply it to his number?this would be a nice thing to do.

1. You can buy a card and give it to him.
2. That's a really nice gesture! You can just purchase a card with however many minutes you want and give it to him to apply to his number. I am a sales team member for kajeet and it's the same concept. I purchase minutes for my daughter and add them to her "wallet" when she is running low.
