Storm or Iphone. How much will you pay for a phone? - Verizon question too.?

Who else out there thinks the price of the cell phones is ridiculous? Looking at the new Blackberry and since verizon signed me up for a new 2yr contract after giving me a exchange because the lg chocolate screen goes blank I can no longer get it at discount price...Verizon is really starting to get my nerves. We are in a recession and they want to mark phones up past 500 dollars... Has anyone called verizon to cancel their service and had any good come from it?

Hey the Blackberry Storm just came out of course it's going to come with a hefty price tag. $500.00 I want the Blackberry Storm too but then I also have to eat. So it has to wait. besides since it just came out I will wait till it works out all the kinks. I would wait pick up a decent and affordable phone, save money towards a phone I really want. As far as Verizon and ATT.. Sorry I know a lot of people who switch from Verizon to ATT for the Iphone and they hate the service (not the phone). check out www.phonearena.com for up and coming phones - it might help you out in your phone search. good luck
Well I hate to say it, but you get what you pay for (usually). Even a $500 phone only costs $.69 a day over a 2 year plan. With the amount of text messages and minutes used the cost per use is so very small. at 5000 texts a month and 10 two minute calls a day (600 mins a month) you are looking at about 1/4 a penny for each use. For something that you use HUNDREDS of times a day the cost is kinda small if you really think about it.
