Is there a cost to use a wifi phone at home?
If I purchase a quality wireless router for my dsl at home, and a wifi phone, will there be any charge to call landlines and cell phones? I have a great deal on my internet and home landline. The landline doesnot include long distance. If I set up a wifi at home and bought a skype ready phone, does it cost to call non skype numbers?

- you have to sign up for Skype
- You will need SOME VoIP service. They range from cheap to free to low cost.... and everything in between. T-Mobile @HOME is something to look at, but costs $10 a month and requires THEIR WiFi combo cell phone. VONAGE.COM is a great monthly $25/month service. SKYPE is also an option, but requires custom PC-connected hardware. My favorite today is MAGICJACK.COM which charges $20 A YEAR, and hooks up to your PC and to your regualr PHONE LINE. Works with ordinary phones plugged in. It requires the PC to be running all the time.
