Blackberry curve 8900, connected to wifi, but internet browser doesn't use it?

hey there, i just bought a blackberry phone on its own (no contract) and i also have a wireless router at home, i have set up a wifi connection correctly but when i go to "options" and then "wifi connections" it shows that it has been saved but doesn't show a tick next to it, it shows this sign "-". can you please help me use my internet on my wireless router please?

1. The connection icon will always be "-" (yellow) because you do not have a data plan with blackberry. Go into the browser, then options, then Browser Config. There should be an option to change to "hotspot browser". Once you save that, then try typing in a webpage (not using a favorite)...
