LG Wireless Phone

Can I goet a Sprint CDMA phone and activate it on my Qwest wireless account since Qwest uses Sprint's network?

I'm a current Qwest customer and I just got there service in March of this year. Because of where I work, I qualify for a 27 percent discount with Sprint, which is why I want there service. The thing is, Sprint wants me to pay $250 for a deposit just to get a Sprint account, which is simply ridiculous (considering I'd have to pay $200 to cancel my current account...) Anywho, if someone could answer that question i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

  1. Sprint and Qwest are not the same company, so the fact that you have to pay an early termination fee to cancel your Qwest account and that Sprint wants a deposit are not related. It would be like complaining that the cable company is charging you for your broken box and the satellite TV provider wanting a deposit.. Qwest and Sprint may have roaming agreements, so your Qwest phone works on Sprint towers and visa versa. Actually USING your Qwest phone on a Sprint account is a different story though. Currently, only Sprint phones work on Sprint accounts, and Qwest phones work on Qwest accounts. The phones are entered into the company's computer systems, and if you attempt to use another carrier's phone, the computer won't let it happen. Some phones can be unlocked, and used on other systems, but that's only the phones that use a sim card (which Qwest and Sprint do not use) In short, you should probably just stick to Qwest until your contract is up, or you can get someone to take the phone over for you. Some companies will allow you to switch the financial responsibility to another person, letting you out of the contract. They have to agree and pass the credit check of the company though. Good luck with all of this!
