- It is very unlikely you will be able to use that cell phone. The reason is the person would have reported lost or stolen. So when you activate that cell phone, Verizon Wireless would ask you for the ESN number behind the battery on the cell phone. If that ESN number is reported stolen or lost then the cell phone will not be able to reactivate services again. Each cell phone on Verizon Wireless has a different ESN number and that is how Verizon Wireless activate their cell phones. There are no sim cards involved.
- yes, you can. You have to be on the Verizon Wireless network too though. Make sure they have switched their number over to another phone & this one has no number on it. Then call Verizon Wireless. You will need to have the name of the person who last had the phone number that was activated on the phone too. Hope I helped! (:
- theres no reason to since the persons probably gonna call Verizon to shut down the phone intell the owner gets it back i suggest you look on the phone list for a home listed call them and say you found a phone and where you could return it to
- If someone lost it, they probably reported it stolen/lost and you won't be able to activate it. If its just someones old phone you can. All you have to do is either go to verizonwireless.com, dial *228 from the phone (it works even if its deactivated), or bring it into a verizon store. As long as someone didn't loose it and report it as stolen/lost, don't worry about the plan they had on it before. If they canceled the account or got a new phone all old phones are deactivated and can be used again.
