discount on verizon wireless phones after the first year of owning the phone?

I got a cellphone in August of last year on Verizon Wireless. I need a new phone now. Is there a discount given on a new phone if I buy it after I have been a member for one year? My dad wants me to wait & get that discount, but we don't know if there is one.
