LG Wireless Phone

can two wireless phones be converted to communicate like a full duplex radio?

presuming they work on the same frequency, can two wireless phones communicate with each other without the mother unit?

  1. I understand what you are trying to say, but a phone IS full duplex... If you mean can you turn them into walkie-talkies... there are phones that can do that too... they are Nextel's... but if you want a set frequency that only two different phones can talk to each other... yes, technically that is possible too... the major question that I have is why?
  2. If you mean using two phones to talk to each other, yes it can be done. You have to swap out the crystals and retune the circuitry. It would be easier to just get some full duplex walkie talkies.
  3. Yes, most DECT 6.0 phones have that feature, and I know my Uniden 1868P does it!! its called DirectLink-mode....
  4. the handset and base frequencies are 2 diffrent frequencies. the base transmits both sides of the phone call to the handset(s) and the handset transmits only 1 side of the conversation. while this as a project would be difficult if not impossible, because most modern cordless phones use some sort of FHSS, DSS, or other method for randomly changing channel, and are digital (encrypted) it would be difficult to test.. the best option for attempting this would be one of the first 25 channel cordless phones, but i doubt you will be able to find any... many newer phones have an intercom feature between phones... I have a panasonic expandable DECT phone, with 4 handsets (i can expand upto 6) and i just need to press intercom, and the # for the handset that I want to call (1-6) and the handset rings, and can be answered like a normal phone call...
