LG Wireless Phone

Is there a way to fix a water damaged LG cell phone without having to contact the cell company?

My phone is only two weeks old and it stopped working today. It rained really bad and water got into my purse and possibly in my new phone :( Someone mentioned there were quick ways to fix a water damaged phone. Anyone know any tricks? I can receive calls and see my screen perfectly, I just cannot use my keys. They are frozen. Help!

  1. You should have taken the battery out when it got wet! If you turn the phone back on if there's still droplets of water inside, it will most likely short circuit...that could be what's affecting your keys...
  2. Open the back of the phone and use a hair dryer and dry it at least 5 minutes. It worked on my cell phone.
  3. I have heard a blow dryer on the cool setting has worked in the past.Or one of those cans of air for your computer key board.... I also been told if all else fails rubbing Alcohol works its acts as a drying agent but I only would if nothing else works as a last result.
  4. My very limited (but almost always successful) experience with this involved opening the case wide open, disconnecting all the flat cable connectors and gently scrubbing everything with rubbing alcohol and reassembling. The camera is the main thing to watch out for as far as alcohol...
