Cell phone battery goes from fully charged to dead in like 3 hours?

I recently got an LG Shine, and i charge it every night and it worked fine until like 4 days ago. i charged it completely at night [like i always do] and then i went to class and it turned off like 2 hours later. this morning i woe up and it was fully charged and it turned off it class. so when i got home i charged it again fully. and now its saying "low battery". what happened?

1. bad battery, doesnt go into standyby or sleep when not in use, or just a short battery life these can be some of the things that can be wrong with it
2. Your battery is braking ):, if you still have the warranty, then send it in.
