How do you fix a cracked screen on an LG Venus cell phone?

I was at practice and someone stepped on my bag and cracked my phone on an inside pocket. i really don't want to spend 50 bucks to get a new phone for a small crack in it. does anyone know how to get rid of the crack?? i can't see any of my text messages :(
