Cell Phone plan help!?!!?!?!?

i am 14 and i NEED a cell phone, and i want the LG VX9400 from verizon, and i thing that i want the messaging plan, but i was looking at it and where it usually says the minutes per month it said unlimited, and the cost was $34.99 and that seemed a little cheap for that plan to have unlimeted minutes and unlimited text.
