Tips on Manually Changing a Cell Phone Number?

My wife and I have recently renewed our Verizon contract, and in doing so changed from 2 Motorola RazR phones to 2 LG 8350 phones. My speaker on the LG 8350 no longer works (washing machine), but we still have a fully-functional Motorola RazR linked unfortunately to my wifes phone number. Is there a way to re-link that old phone to my phone number instead? (To get a replacement LG 8350, which I love, they've asked for $199.99)
