Can I use my ATT cingular phone for an ATT prepaid service?
I already have a ATT plan, but I want to cancel that and change to prepaid or "Pay as you go" Is it possible for me to keep my old phone and just pop in the prepaid simcard? I like my old phone, thats why.

- I called about that recently them and verizon because we have them both, I only lremember what verizon said, it is the technology inside the phone that will make it possible or not, our LG V could not go perpay on Verizon. Call them they will let you know, you will have to pay huge cancellations fees, and you know what, that prepaid plan is really expensive too! Im really sorry I reupped with ATT, I should of gone crickett, where I live I can buy minute cards 99 mins for 99 cents at the 99 cent store , and use to make long distance calls when I need to. The refurbished Samsungs I bought as gifts work great and the crickett service has worked perfectly, customer service isnt great but for the price, might check into cricket and see if your phone will work with them
- my wife an i recently upgraded our phones.(we have att cingular plan).I gave my brother my old phone which was a lgcu400,his prepaid simcard worked just fine.
- If you have already completed your contract then you can change your plan from postpaid to prepaid without changing the phone; you might have to change the sim card though. The advantage of this is you keep your existing number. Customer service can help you with this change but be aware that you must be out of contract first.
