will GoPhone work on my existing ATT phone account?

I want to purchase ATT's Sony Ericsson W580i Walkman phone(pay as you go), but I already have a 2 year plan with ATT. Is this phone only for "pay as you go" and cannot be used for existing ATT contracts?

1. You can not purchase the phone with out setting up a new pay as you go account. However once you purchase the phone you can swap sim cards and the W580i will work with your original number. You never have to use the pay as you go plan and after about 90 days depending on how much you put down for it, the account will go inactive. Or use the minutes and then never refill the plan. But the sim cards will be interchangeable between your phones and both will work pre paid or contract.
