Anyone have any early upgrade issues with Att cell phone plans?

I'm looking to get the new iphone and am not upgradable till jan 09....I just wonder if I put up enough fuss saying I've been a loyal customer for years, no late payments etc and last resort will pay the amount to end my contract and go somewhere else....would they just give in and let me upgrade now?

1. Nicholas you dont even have to fuss to get the iPhone. You can do an exception upgrade and pay the $399 or $499 price you will still have a 2 year contract the day you purchase the phone and an $18 upgrade fee on your bill. You will not be able to get the phone at $199/$299, im sorry! But you can pay the higher price to get the iPhone, even if you fuss and threaten to go elsewhere .. the cheapest prices wont be available. Sorry!
