Alltel To Verizon Wireless Question? Please Help!!?

Ok my contract is up the 22nd of August. I was with Alltel but now im with Verizon! Does that mean I can get any phone I want? Or do I have to pay? Please help me im very confused! So like I have a Razor the old kind from like 2 years ago. Does that mean when my contract is up I can only get a razor? Or can I pick any phone I want?
