What is the small arrow next to the 'Main Menu' on the LG Dare cell phone?

I am currently shopping for a new cell phone. I can't decide between the LG Dare and the LG EnV Touch. On the Dare, I am wondering what the small arrow at the top of the screen, next to the words 'Main Menu' is for. I have seen this on the phones without an external QWERTY keyboards only. Please help.

1. I have the Dare and when my contract is up in September i'm getting the EnV Touch because they both are great phones and the env touch sports everything the dare has plus a physical keyboard. It is bigger and I heard the battery isnt as good as the dares (which is amazing). I think the arrow you are talking about takes you back but i'm a little confused. And yes the dare has and external qwerty but so does the env touch
2. Well I'm sorry but I don't quite understand what you are asking... I have the dare.... are you talking about the shortcut bin? Its a little corner toward the right corner. If you click on it you get a shortcut bin. You can use that and edit it so your most used things will show up there. Then you can drag stuff so it shows up on your main menu. Sorry if I didn't help...... :( oh and the dare is GREAT
3. i think its the back key. u just go back to the main screen. if ur talking about the arrow on the main screen then its a shortcut. u can sete the shortcut and drag it out if u want so u can just click on it. ur probably talking about the back button though
