wifi cell phone internet help?

today i bought a blackberry cell phone and i asked the t mobile guy if i can use the internet on it without any contracts using my dsl router as wifi connection he said no well i tried it anyway and somehow it works i have full internet on my phone and i didnt agree to pay anything extra monthly my question is are they gonna charge me for using the internet I do own the home router though and i pay for the internet connection at at&t i just dont want to see a crazy amount of $ on my next cell phone bill am i gonna get charged for the internet??? its the curve 8900 no im pretty sure im not going through the cell phone provider because before i go anywhere i tells me i need to sign up for something but i found a different way into the net without that blockage and it just goes straight into any site i type in i turned wifi on and then went online thats it but whats buggin me is the guy at t mobile said its impossible to do that so im thinking maybe it just automatically signed me up for the motnhly charges and that would be messed up lol

  1. Well if the phone has no wifi, and you're on the internet, you're going through the cell provider... which will cost you money and usually lots of it without a data plan. What phone do you have? Only a few of the blackberry phones do have wifi. edit: Just checked Blackberry's site and the Curve 8900 does have wifi built in, so as long as you're on wifi you shouldn't have any charges from t-mobile, as they cant charge for data that isn't being used on their network, hell, over wifi they wont even know! Just make sure you are on your wifi (or a hotspot) before trying to do anything online, because if you don't have a data plan the rates are usually horrible!
