How to access the internet through wifi without a data plan on the blackberry curve 8900?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8900(the new one). I don't have any data plan, but I keep hearing that you can access the Browser as long as you're connected to WiFi. But whenever I try to access the internet through the phone, it keeps saying that I need a data plan to access the internet. If anyone could tell me how to fix the problem, I'd be happy.

1. First you must find a wifi hotspot. Connect to it. Once your done. Go into your blackberry. Options. Advanced Options. Browser. Under Default browser configuration change to Hotspot Browser. See if that works.
2. HEY go to MENU --> OPTIONS ---> MOBILE NETWORK ---> and just change your "PREFERRED NETWORK" to WIFI EASY AS 1 2 3 XD
