is there going to be a bill thatwould make all cell phones compatible with all phone carriers?
i heard that theres going to be a bill passed that would make, for example, the LG Chocolate, a Verizon wireless phone, compatible with AT&T. True?

- The LG Chocalate can already be compatible all you have to do is switch out sim cards and figure out the code, or you can get them on ebay already unlocked. But there isn't going to be a bill that makes every phone company make there phones compatible with each other, it would cost to much and put some smaller companies out of bussines.
- no, but if you qwant to get the chocolate, voyager(Prada), just go down to mexico and get them from Telcel, they will work with AT&T because they use SIM cards and are GSM/GPRS/EDGE tecghnologies like AT&T and T-Mobile use
- First off, no bill is coming, and here's the problem with why they can't do that. Verizon phones, like Sprint phones, don't have sim cards. They work off the CDMA technology vs. GSM technology that AT&T, T-Mobile, and others work off of that use sim cards. Now Verizon is talking about potentially heading towards GSM for 4G but, not sure they'll do that. Wouldn't make sense for them to abandon they CDMA infrastructure they've built out.
