is it possible to have an ATT phone number while i am a F1 international student?

i heard that att ask for the SSN when you want to buy a new phone and contract, as you might know, I can't work as a F1 international student, so I can't have a SSN. So, is it possible to buy an att phone without a SSN, for a guy like me?
