What can I do about my wireless company (Rogers Wireless)?

I have been with Rogers wireless for exactly 5 years, I have had the SAME phone I got the first time I used my phone. What happened was, first my sister and I signed a 2 year contract and we got 2 phones for free (including the one I have to date). After the 2 year contract ended, we signed a 3 year contract. My sister ended up getting a new phone the day of, at that time my phone was perfectly fine and the selection of phones were very limited (December 2005)(if you know rogers, you know what i mean). Over the past year or so, my phone has been acting up, battery not lasting as long, reception, etc. basically my phone is dying. When I talked to rogers to get my phone with the discount since i signed a 3 year contract, they said i have to sign ANOTHER 3 year contract! I told them how I already signed a 3 year contract and they still tell me how I have to sign another contract to get the phone at a discount from date I get the phone yet I have been on a contract for 3 years (plus 2 from before). I don't know what to do with them. It is so frustrating when they take away my right especially when I AM THE CUSTOMER.

  1. well this is pretty much how cell phone companies work, you get a cell phone upgrade after promising them that they will have your business for another x amount of years... you have a right to sign a new contract, that is your only right. they dont owe you a phone because you have been a valued customer is their anyway you can buy a phone from like ebay, for cheap, and just switch the numbers? or if you dont want to renue your contract, and it is up with rogers, then cancel your plan... get a new contract with a new company (youll get a new phone/better selections)
