LG Wireless Phone

Are Verizon's phones (U.S.) compatible with Rogers (Canada) contracts? ?

I currently have a contract with Rogers wireless (Canadian mobility provider). I'm looking to buy a verizon cell phone off ebay. I know that not all phones are compatible with all companies. Does anyone know if the verizon phone will work with my rogers contract? Do they use the same network? Thanks! 10 points to the best answer!
