I'm upgrading my wireless rogers phone but i need to be on the account?

How can I get my name added to the account? I don't talk much to my dad anymore, and he doesn't get that i need to be on the account in order for me to get the phone on the plan i have currently. and NO i can't just change the SIM card because the phone will be an extra $200 dollars. HOw can i make this make sense to him?

1. tell him in order for them to discuss the contract details etc with you that you needd to be a named person on the account and that if your name is on the account you get recognition for payments made to the account thus giving you a better credit rating and that you dont need to bother him each time you need to check the account for any reason
