why wont my cell phone company give me an unlock code?

I have a t-mobile carrier but recently bought a blackjack with an at&t logo onit when i take the att sim card out it says invalid unlock code i called t-mobile and they wont give me the code bought a $35 one from e-bay and it doesnt work whats going on?

1. They wont give you the unlock code because they want you to use/buy their equipment. You will either have to get the code from the websites below or maybe a message board...

The company does not have to give you this code.There are no laws or rules to go by,which is to the companies benefit.You can ask them,I mean really,really Beg for it,they might give it to you if you intend to use it so that the company can profit(AGAIN)otherwise you are out of luck. About the invalid unlock code,did you get any kind of money-back garantee?If not you are again out of luck.I would contact that seller for the correct code-do not pay anymore money,and if they refuse to give you what they advertised you can report them to Ebay and the BetterBusinessBeureau,also ConsumerInformation could be of help.Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.
