How do you check cell phone voicemail from another phone?

I can't get into my cell phone voice mail because my #1 key doesn't work and I need to type in the #1 for my password. So, is there a way to check my voice mail from another phone such as my home phone or another cell phone?

1. On most providers, you can turn off your cell, then call it and when the voicemail pics up hit either * or # (usually #) at which point it should prompt for your password. If this fails, try calling your provider and asking - they probably have a way of doing it, just a matter of knowing what it is :)
2. YES! make a note of the voicemail centre number and call it from a landline. for example I always check mine from a land line (ORANGE UK) 07973 100 123 then enter my mobile and press # then password # to get the menu
3. Wait until it goes to your voicemail (after calling your phone.) press star * and enter your password.
