Is it possible to use the Blackberry 8220 with just WiFi and no data plan?

I'd like to use the Blackberry 8220 with a T-Mobile prepaid phone plan and not get any type of data plan. Would I be able to use the internet browser via WiFi or does that get disabled due to not subscribing to data?

1. you can using WIFI but I hope you are not considering buying the phone with a prepaid plan since the phone is $350 full price at a store and you won't be able to use most of the features since it's a data based phone. Unless you are getting it as a gift or really, really cheap I don't see it as being worth it.
