Can the Blackberry Curve's wifi capabilites be used to browse the web?

I keep reading about the blackberry curve's wifi being used for talking on the phone for T-Mobile's HotSpot @ Home service, but I want to know instead of subscribing to the Blackberry internet service would I be able to browse the web by using the wifi and also have my emails sent straight to my blackberry using wifi only? Please help!

  1. Just based on it having wi-fi you will be able to communicate with wi-fi capable devices. You should be able to connect to a wi-fi connection and browse the web, but i have a blackberry pearl and you need the Blackberry internet service or the email add on the get your blackberry mail "pushed" to your phone. But if you use something like yahoo mail you may be able to check the mail via the web browser.
  2. Yes. T-Mobile pushes the Hotspot @ Home compatibility on people heavily but you will be able to surf the internet via wi-fi on the Blackberry Curve.
