Can a cell phone or even a 5.8 Ghz phone cause WIFI interference?
I noticed a few times that my WIFI signal dropped when my cell phone rang. The service is Verizon and the phone is an LG 8100vx. Also, just recently, my signal dropped during a phone call on my 5.8 Ghz phone. Could some frequencies on either end up on the 2.4 Ghz range, such as for synchronizing for example? Thanks. BTW, I did try all the obvious remedies for wifi interference prior.

- Almost anything can effect a Wi-Fi signal.. Doors closing, phones ringing, microwaves.. So, I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if that does effect your signal.
- Yes, I had a phone that would slow my laptop down if I was near it. Also, it goes both ways. It took me several cordless phone before I had one that worked with the home wireless network.
