do i need a phone line to use Skype or can i use my wifi connection?

2. Skype does not need a phone line. It is what they call voice over IP. IP or Internet Protocol, is the protocol that is used to pass data on the internet. So as long as you have internet connectivity, either directly through your cable modem or over a wireless connection, you can use Skype.

5. wifi as long as its not breaking your ISP's contract. most likely not unless its free like a city's wifi.
