Does Skype wifi phone need skype credit to call or as long as I have wfi connection it will be free?

hello I'm just wondering that if i have a skype wifi phone will i have to buy credits in order for me to make calls ? because i want a skype phone but free unlimited minutes as long as i have a wifi connection
