Pix messages take very long time to receive in Verizon phone from other providers.?

Whenever one of my friends sends me a picture or video message from another wireless provider (in this case a picture message with a voice recording, but no picture), it takes a very long time for me to receive it. I'm talking hours later. A picture my friend sent me recently was sent at 4 PM and it wasn't received until 12 PM the next day. Why is this and is there any way to speed it up?

1. This basically is a problem with the netowork. Call verizon and they will trouble shoot the prblem for you. This also happens when the recepient or the sender is in a bad coverage area!
