Why was the LG VX8700 (for Verizon Wireless) discontinued?

I used to have this phone, got a different replacement from insurance, and now several (crappy) phones later, I want my old LG VX8700 again! However, it was discontinued...I'm thinking of buying it on ebay, but I want to know why it was discontinued, as it seemed like a great phone and all the reviews I've ever read were pretty positive! Anyone know WHY the phone was discontinued by Verizon Wireless?

1. Verizon gets rid of their old phones. They have phones out for awhile/logn time. New phones start to come in. Out with the old and in with the new phones. I had an LG VX5200 that Verizon had in 2005. It was a fantastic phone and Verizon discontinued it. There are other places that still sell old phones. Try looking on ebay, craigslist or amazon.
2. Morgan K, I dropped my LG VX8700 and it busted into about 16 pieces. Sucks!
