- Sounds like a form of Insurance Fraud to me. You could get in a lot of trouble for that.
- You must add insurance within 15 days of the original purchase date of that phone. Also, it is just like car insurance...if you wreck your car...and then call the insurance company, they will not help you at all until you get your car fixed on your own...and then they will provide protection for you for any future damages. Since you have had that phone for a period exceeding 15 days...I do not recommend just giving up based on my answer (no it will not be able to be covered), I recommend calling Verizon and pleading. Make a deal to pay an additional 5.00 for the month that you didn't have insurance. The worst that could happen is they say NO. Then ask "Please explain any good deals you could offer me because I do not want to be without a good working phone." Try, try some more, and keep trying.
- no u have to get it within a certain amount of time of the phone purchase. and yes u have to send them the phone back when u receive the new phone.
- sorry. insurance can't be added unless it's within 15 days of activation. ( it keeps people from not paying the fees then breaking the phone and then calling in to add on insurance) if they add it on now, asurion will void your claim. and you'll be out the fee's you paid with a broken phone. the store MAY be able to do an inhouse claim for a 50$ deductible and cost of insurance, but you may be outta luck. sorry.
