How do you reduce noise on the lg vu and other lg phones?

I just got an Lg vu yesterday, and whenever i talk on the phone the person on the other line can hardly hear me, and there is this awful white noise in the background that is so annoying. I've tried to turn the phone every way to improve the sound but nothing seems to work. ANYONE with answers, please tell me. Oh, and i'm not looking to send in the phone for another one.

2. Well reset the phone to manufacture settings first. Then try and get an new sim card. Sims cards can go bad. Then if all that fails that is a bad phone and you will have to send it back.
