Why do cell phones charge faster on a car charger than a wall charger?

My last 3 cell phones all seem to get a full charge faster on the car charger than with a wall charger, anyone know why this is? Now that I think of it, my PDA and laptop and GPS all charge faster with a car charger than wall charger. Curious.

1. Car chargers expend more energy onto the phone then a wall charger. You have to be careful though when it comes to those car chargers because you can hurt your battery if you keep charging it even when the battery is fully charged It will shorten your battery life.
