Texting with LG CU515 cell phone help?

Is it possible to make abc (lower case) my default messaging preference. It always goes back to Abc and I have to manually change it every time. Why won't it stay on my last choice?

1. after u put a period its automatically change to Abc I really don't think that u can put the abc mode permanently
2. My mom has a LG CU515. She's has lots of problems with hers.
