How can I keep my LG Shine cell phone from getting scratched/damaged?

I recently bought an LG Shine, but I've heard they get scratched easily. Is there a certain way to prevent it? I'm open for any kinds of suggestions.. I'm pretty sure ill get a case for it, but i want something to protect the screen as well.

1. clear tape on the screen.
2. the best way is to buy hi-quality Rubberized Casing .... which is some how raised out on the screen edges.... this how u can protect ur gadget.
